Dear friends, we would like to share the progress of our project for Ukrainian IDP families.
We keep daily work with our beneficiaries by integration workshops, constant communication, art-therapy for IDP children and cultural events.
Acrylic paints master-class became absolute favorite among all occupations for children, so we try to hold it as often as possible.
Celebrating International Women’s Day we decided to use it as a chance to inspire our mothers-beneficiaries, holding series of meetings and psychological counseling on stress resistance for moms. The festive completion of this series of meetings was the Women’s Day celebration with IDP women participation on March 17. In cooperation with vocal opera studio of Teacher's House, Women’s Federation for World Peace of Ukraine organized beautiful concert with gifts and refreshments.
On April 27, in frames of WFWP annual international conference, dated to Mother’s Day, we invited IDP families for this event that included useful speeches on women’s role in 21st century, concert and lottery. The central part of the conference was “Woman of the year” award ceremony for 9 outstanding women. Traditionally, already second year, we definitely award one of the IDP women, appreciating their non-easy life and daily investment in their family and society. This time he award was received by Yana - the head of the humanitarian HQ of All-Ukrainian organization on IDPs affairs.
Yana’s life is truly incredible. Having her rehabilitation center in downtown of Gorlovka City, Donetsk region, together with her husband, Yana was happy and confident in a future of her three children. When war started they still hoped it will not last long. But after Yana witnessed bombing of their street and people burning and dying on her eyes they quickly escaped to Kiev. Having lost everything, staying with her family in Kiev dormitory and unable to forget everything she had to see, Yana’s worldview completely changed. She decided to help her countrymen who were in the same situation. So now as a volunteer she is organizing plenty of work for refugees, taking their troubles as her own.
We sincerely thank you for all your support and we wish you nice summer time!
