Progress Update: Your Impact in Numbers

We are thrilled to share the next chapter in our "Rehabilitation of War Victims in Ukraine" project. Your generous support has now enabled three full 30-day rehabilitation courses at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center, transforming lives amid Ukraine's ongoing challenges with complex injuries like amputations, spinal cord damage, and traumatic brain injuries.

In addition to Nazariy and Dmytro from our first report — who gained speech clarity (80% comprehension), arm function, independence, and mobility gains (10m walk: 5.3 to 3.8 seconds; 6-min walk: 535 to 590m; pain-free with max Berg Balance) — we celebrate Yevhen's completion.

Yevhen targeted endurance, gait, arm recovery, strength, coordination, and functional mobility post-severe injury. His quantifiable triumphs include:

  • 4-square test: 60 to 50 seconds.
  • 6-minute walk: 180 to 143 meters.
  • 10-meter walk: 13.3 to 12 seconds.
  • Berg Balance: 35 to 37 points.

These results stem from the center's expert team providing individualized physical, occupational, and psychological care.

This milestone was achieved through vital collaborations with the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, the National Congress of Ukrainians in Canada (UCC), and the "Rehabilitation of Cyborgs 2.0" program powered by donors like you. We've covered full costs for these three heroes, proving that targeted funding restores mobility, reduces pain, and rebuilds self-care skills.

Your contributions are fueling economic recovery and community resilience: beneficiaries return to work, studies, families, and sports, becoming role models. With two spots left in our group of five, we invite continued support to complete this cohort and scale impact.

Thank you for paying the "price of restoration." Share this story, donate today, and help bring more warriors home to confident steps. Every step forward is yours too.
