We want to share the story of Volodymyr Kolodiaznyi, a 46-year-old father of two from Kherson. Before the war, Volodymyr was a successful manager at a construction company, building homes and a future for his family. In April 2023, his life changed when he was mobilized to serve as a squad commander in a frontline assault brigade.
On September 20, 2023, while defending Ukraine near Robotyne, Volodymyr sustained severe mine-blast injuries. His evacuation route was long and painful: from Zaporizhzhia to Dnipro, and finally to Kyiv.
The consequences were devastating: he lost his left lower leg (amputation at the lower third of the shin), and his right leg was also severely traumatized. Since then, Volodymyr has shown incredible resilience. On October 9, 2023, he underwent a complex reconstructive surgery to save his right leg. However, the path to walking again has been difficult. Most recently, on July 3, 2025, he underwent a re-amputation of his left limb to ensure the best possible fit for a future prosthesis.
Thanks to your donations, we are supporting Volodymyr through this grueling marathon of surgeries and rehabilitation. Your contributions help cover:
Critical medical supplies for complex surgeries.
Professional post-operative care and pain management.
Preparations for high-quality prosthetic fitting.
