We, Les Enfants de Dieu (EDD) are thrilled to update you of what has been going on in our program as education sponsorship is concerned.
This is eighth progressive report of Education Sponsoring program for about 250 students who are studying in different education levels (Primary, Secondary and Vocational Training). It is certain that without your generous support their chance for education would remain impossible. We are always grateful for your kind-hearted support extended to our beneficiaries (former street children).
As you know this education sponsorship program is helping uniquely the former street children/youth who had been rehabilitated under our former rehabilitation program carried out over previous years. We are taking this opportunity to share with you about what was going on in this education program.
Regardless the covid pandemic challenges affected all of us in some ways, your contribution has enabled us to cover the payment of school fees, school materials, school follow up charges for our students over last school term for all our beneficiaries.
Eight (8) vocational training student who had been in internship program, have now completed their training, they not only waiting for graduation day but also they are ready for the job market.
Though third term have been completed for high school and upper primary levels but 15 low primary level student are still studying to compensate the time interrupted by Covid pandemic.
We also paid school materials, transports and other additional needs for only 23 boys who didn’t have a chance to get a help from their families or families’ relatives.
Conclusively, we appreciate your great initiative of helping thousands of organizations and millions of people who are in need around the world!
A story of one of our former beneficiaries called HITIMANA Gracien
‘’I was a teacher of computer, mathematics, Kinyarwanda and social studies with English in level 2 at EDD, in additional to that I was a mentor who always guided kids time to time by helping them bring about effective change and enhance their wellbeing with future hope and revealing their future dream to achieve their life goals.
I had been working at EDD since 2017 till 2020 I enjoy most to be with kids, working, playing, and dancing and enjoy life together as family daily. They are kids like others they are teachable and kind I was not thinking that there is help should I give to my brothers (street kids) but it’s happened since I started teaching them and being exemplary to them.
I have been on street and rehabilitated and transformed by EDD, after completing high school I had such opportunity to come back as a teacher then started to give back to the center that raised me many years ago.
Street kids are not really street kids in their mind, they are children as like others, if they are educated and mentored they can be presidents, doctors, Drivers, Pilot, psychologist and good teacher like me, today no one can see any trace of street life on me’’
