Our school in India started out as a local mothers home and today is now a fully registered and operational school dedicated to children with disabilities. It is the only one of t's kind and as such we have parents wanting to bring their children from up to 3 hours away, however due to poverty they can't afford the transport. Our school says yes to every child that is removed from government schools due to physical and/or mental disabilities and we work on a one to one plan to help each child
Many local schools are not equipped to handle students with physical and mental disabilities, leaving them excluded from education. Unfortunately many families are living in poverty, unable to afford daycare or the equipment their children need to learn. Our school ensures 1:1 support is available and every single teacher and therapist at our school is a local community member that is passionate and have completed specialist training to ensure every child is given the best opportunity in life.
Our school is dedicated to providing education to children who have been excluded from traditional schools. We welcome children with a range of needs, from paralysis to terminal illnesses and serious behavioral issues. The only school of its kind in the area, families travel from afar to us and how staff help everyone that comes through our doors however sadly we have no government funding so we have passionate staff but any physiotherapy session, computers, equipment we need we are lacking
In addition to capacity building of the staff through training and providing education to individuals, improved quality of care at the school will help prevent further physical deterioration of the children and by funding equipment, we can create a lasting impact as this could increase the capacity that the school can handle for therapy and allow them to continue the work for years to come. We also need to include IT to our school to help children interact in the modern world but we need help
