To the Friends of Magaya Primary School
On the 23rd of Magaya Primary School
On the 23rd of July 2016, Rozaria Memorial Trust Board of Trustees led by the Acting Chairperson Mr Patrick Mugaragumbo and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda visited Magaya Primary School to assess progress of the rehabilitation and construct of the two classroom blocks that you have been us for the past 3 years. RMT officials met with the school head, Mrs Wachipa and a had a site visit of the classrooms under construction to see the progress that has been made to date.
Both the classroom blocks have been plastered and the remaining work is flooring, glazing and painting of all the four classrooms. It is touching to note the grade zeros and the grade ones are using the uncompleted classrooms which poses a health risk to them because of wind and dust. Mrs Wachipa indicated that the school enrollment has been going down for the past 6 years with the school enrollment dropping from 650 students in 2010 to the current enrolment of 400 students because of the poor infrastructure at the school.
The community remains resolute in finding solutions to complete the project. It was suggested that RMT and the school will hold an open day to fundraise for the school before year end. The RMT board and the school authorities resolution at the end of the tour was very clear with a target to have the construction of the classrooms blocks completed by December 2016. The total funds needed for the completion of the project is $3000,00. Your support is very important as we work towards fulfilling our December 2016 resolution.
We have attached photos on the current state of the project. Your support over the years has sustained our work and we remain available to provide updates or any other information at rozariamemorialtrust@hotmail.com cc rozaria@africaonline.co.zw
