Yemen is a war-torn country. The humanitarian situation is one of the worst in the world. UNICEF recently has confirmed that there are nearly two million children of school age in Yemen are outside of schools including more than a million and a half children who were out of school before the war. All of these catastrophic situations forced many to take their children out of schools and take them to the street to find a livelihood.
This project will provide a social and psychological rehabilitation for 150 poor street children in Sana'a. SYS Organization will enroll street children in reputable schools around the city, sponsor their school fees, provide uniforms, shoes, school supplies, gifts, and nutritious packed meals. There will be special psychological and social rehabilitation programs for these children to enable them to pass these difficult situations.
The project will provide 150 poor homeless street children with high psychological, social, and educational services for a full year. Besides, it will protect 150 from vagrancy, delinquency, and immoral exploitation. It will improve the family status of those children. Moreover, this project will raise awareness of the importance of childhood to 10,000 families in the targeted districts in Sana'a. SYS Organization plans to make this project sustainable by engaging local authorities and NGOs.
