Thank you for your generous contribution. Through your donation we have been able to continue working in remote communities for the people with disability to empower them. You truly make the difference to us, and we are extremely grateful!
In this reporting period, we're pleased to share the significant progress made in fostering inclusive development within the Mugu community, particularly in empowering individuals with disabilities. Here's a summary of the key accomplishments related to disability inclusion:
a. Psychosocial Training: Two psychosocial training events were conducted to raise awareness about mental well-being, stress management, and counseling skills. The sessions were attended by 40 individuals, including 10 persons with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and support for those experiencing mental distress.
b. Independent Living Program (ILP): Eight persons with disabilities, including single women and returnee migrants, were enrolled in the Independent Living Program. This initiative aims to empower individuals by educating them about their rights and capabilities, enabling them to lead independent lives. Testimonials from participants highlight the program's transformative impact on their daily lives and future aspirations.
c. Physiotherapy Services: Home physiotherapy services were provided to 93 individuals, including 28 individuals with disabilities. Physiotherapy practices helped address specific needs, promoting improved bodily function and well-being among beneficiaries.
Suka Bahadur Karki ( Name changed), residing in Rara-8, Kachche, says, "As an individual with a disability, I have been engaged in cultivating cauliflower, cabbage, cucumber, green mustard leaves, tomatoes, and more since the previous year. The quality of my vegetables has been excellent, thriving successfully. My family can consume green vegetables regularly into our daily meals. Through selling vegetables to both neighbors and the Gamgadhi market, I have earned approximately Nrs. 7000. I express my gratitude to PHASE Nepal for supporting me, providing knowledge and skills for vegetable cultivation."
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you. Your generosity has enabled us to continue our vital work in empowering individuals with disabilities in remote communities like Mugu. Your support not only transforms lives but also brings hope and dignity to those who need it most.
