Report of our project where stand

By Zahid Hussain | Project Leader

Project Report: Rehabilitation Center for Disabled and Cerebral Palsy Children To: GlobalGiving Community and Supporters From: Project Leadership Team Date: October 26, 2023 Subject: Progress Report on the Establishment of the Rehabilitation Center 1. Project Overview This report outlines the current status of our initiative to establish a dedicated rehabilitation center for children with disabilities, including those with Cerebral Palsy, in Sindh, Pakistan. The project's core mission is to provide comprehensive therapeutic care, support, and education to a vulnerable population currently lacking accessible services. 2. Progress Update on Funds and Construction Our fundraising efforts have faced significant challenges. To date, we have collected a modest amount of donations through the GlobalGiving platform, supplemented by a limited contribution from the Government of Sindh. While this is below our initial projections, we have prioritized the strategic utilization of every received fund. We are pleased to report that the collected funds have been successfully allocated to the construction of the center's physical building. This phase is now complete. The construction of the core facility stands as a tangible milestone, providing a permanent and dedicated space from which to operate our services. 3. Current Focus and Challenges With the building now ready, our immediate focus has shifted to the next critical phases: procuring essential therapeutic equipment and recruiting qualified medical and support staff. The center requires specialized items such as physiotherapy tools, assistive devices, sensory integration equipment, and furniture suited for children with disabilities. We are actively seeking funds to meet these requirements. Concurrently, we have expanded our outreach to secure necessary resources and partnerships. Our team has formally approached relevant federal bodies within the Government of Pakistan and engaged with several national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to advocate for support, in-kind donations, or collaborative opportunities for this project. 4. Next Steps and Path Forward Our immediate objectives are to secure funding for equipment and initial staff salaries to commence partial operations. We continue to promote our GlobalGiving campaign to the wider donor community. The outreach to government entities and partner NGOs is ongoing, and we are hopeful these efforts will yield further support. The completion of the building is a foundational achievement that demonstrates our commitment and provides a credible basis for further investment. We are now positioned to move forward as soon as additional resources are secured. 5. Appeal for Support We extend our sincere gratitude to the donors who have believed in this project. Your support has built a home for this vital center. We now appeal to the generosity of the GlobalGiving community, philanthropic institutions, and corporate partners to help us equip this home and bring it to life. Your contribution at this stage will directly enable us to hire therapists, purchase equipment, and begin transforming the lives of children with disabilities and their families. We remain steadfast in our mission and are determined to overcome these financial hurdles to open the center's doors. Respectfully, The Project Team
