Project Update Report for GlobalGiving

15th June, 2025

Project Name: Aumshaala Rural Regeneration Initiative – Phase I

**Reporting Organization**: Acwerk Rural Development Foundation

Project 68747 - Regenerative agriculture,100 people in India

**Location**: Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu, India

Progress Summary:

We are delighted to share a promising update from the field. Thanks to the support of our generous donors and collaborators, Aumshaala has successfully **acquired 2.10 acres of land** as the first step toward building a sustainable, regenerative ecosystem rooted in rural empowerment and ecological harmony.

Key Milestones Achieved:

1. Land Acquisition:

   * 2.10 acres of land have been legally purchased in our target region.

   * The site holds immense potential for regenerative farming, healing spaces, and community-based livelihood development.

2. Soil Testing Completed:

   * Comprehensive soil testing was conducted to determine crop suitability, tree planting potential, and ecological compatibility.

   * Results will guide our planting strategy and future water management systems.

3. Land Boundary Marking & Mapping:

   * Accurate GPS-based measurements and boundary demarcations have been completed.

   * This ensures clarity in planning zones for tree plantation, water bodies, healing spaces, and future community infrastructure.

4. Community Engagement:

   * Preliminary meetings have been held with local villagers and farm workers.

   * We are identifying individuals and women’s self-help groups for future employment and training in plantation, nursery care, and regenerative practices.

5. Design Phase Initiated:

   * Landscape architects and permaculture designers have begun the layout planning.

   * The design integrates **indigenous tree plantation**, **sattvik food forests**, and **ecological water systems**, aligning with Aumshaala’s vision for a self-sustaining, healing land.

Next Steps:

* Begin tree planting and soil enrichment activities aligned with seasonal rain patterns.

* Finalize design of internal pathways, water bodies, and zoned plantation areas.

* Initiate employment of local youth and women for planting, nursery maintenance, and fencing.

* Document and share visual updates with the GlobalGiving community.

Thank You

We are deeply grateful for your continued support. This land is not just soil—it is the beginning of a movement for rural wellbeing, ecological healing, and conscious livelihood. We look forward to updating you as we grow roots—both literal and social—in the months to come.

With gratitude,
