Regenerating Rainforests in Madagascar

Thanks to your support, Health In Harmony's (HIH) team in Madagascar has been able to continue its crucial partnerships with local communities, advancing our shared mission of promoting planetary health.

In the regions of Takoandra and Anaviavy, essential groundwork was laid through soil preparation and tree-planting efforts. Additionally, the HIH team participated in the observance of International Biodiversity Day in Agnalazaha, reaffirming our dedication to preserving and celebrating the rich tapestry of life on Earth.

As part of HIH’s ongoing commitment to assessing progress and planning for future needs, the team continues to diligently analyze soil and reforestation data. Simultaneously, preparations were made for the construction of a new research department laboratory, accompanied by necessary infrastructure upgrades to ensure the safety and functionality of HIH operations.

In support of the local livelihoods program, soil preparation was initiated for an upcoming training program focusing on bean production; and the team established farm schools in 13 villages. These initiatives, crafted in collaboration with rainforest communities, represent pragmatic climate solutions driven by local expertise and needs.

In healthcare, the HIH team initiated cervical cancer screenings in the Monombo communities and began preparations for comprehensive training sessions aimed at equipping community agents with knowledge pertinent to addressing TB and schistosomiasis.
