Countries like Uganda experience considerable educational inequality. Many rural school children attend classes daily without access to clean water. Due to a lack of reliable water resources, these children often spend significant time collecting unsafe water, which leads to the persistence of water-borne diseases. This situation severely impacts their ability to receive an education, making it challenging for them to pursue learning opportunities.
This is why it is necessary for Bridgit to help governments and communities to eliminate the inequality.
Providing a water supply to a rural Primary or Secondary school can have a significant impact on the surrounding community, as these schools often play a significant role in community life.
Providing a well at a rural school enhances the potential of every student by promoting health and enabling uninterrupted attendance. Bridgit has numerous schools on our waiting list. All are located in targeted rural areas of Uganda, and they urgently need a water system within their compounds to function effectively. Spring 2025 Uganda Refurb Wells Interim Report

Over the past three months, Bridgit Water Foundation has made significant strides in expanding access to clean water and sanitation across underserved communities. With the support of our generous donors, we successfully completed the rehabilitation of two boreholes in rural Uganda, restoring reliable water access to over 2,400 people. Our local partners have also been instrumental in delivering community hygiene training, which complements the infrastructure improvements and helps reduce waterborne illnesses.
In addition to on-the-ground project delivery, this quarter we focused on enhancing our monitoring and evaluation systems. We implemented new tools to better track project impact and community engagement, and we’ve begun incorporating feedback from ACFID-aligned frameworks to ensure greater transparency and inclusion. These improvements allow us to better measure long-term outcomes, identify barriers to access—particularly for women and people with disabilities—and adapt our strategies to address them effectively.
We are proud to report that your continued support not only helps build essential infrastructure, but also empowers communities to manage their own water resources sustainably. These efforts strengthen our partnerships on the ground by increasing trust within the communities we serve. Fall 2024 Uganda Refurb Wells Interim Report

BridgIT Water Foundation continues its work in rural Uganda with 8 water well refurbishments during the Fall, 2024. It is fortunate that BridgIT has multiple funding sources for times when fundraising on GlobalGiving is not sufficient to restore broken wells, as was the case during the past quarter.
Little Ripples is a socially responsible Australian wine brand that provides 1 person with water for 1 year for each bottle sold. During the past quarter, Little Ripples’ “wine to water” initiative was able to fund 8 water well restorations, including 3 in BridgIT’s Refugee Settlement program.
