We are now embarking on the last 4 months of our campaign to the gathering 7Million Signatures, the success of which will usher to a National Referendum. It may be the first in our country’s history. The purpose of the referendum is to get the approval of majority of Filipino registered voters to enact a NATIONAL JURY LAW (NJL). So far, we still have to gather millions of signatures in the last three months to July 2015.
July is the crucial month for this campaign to make sure that NJL is in place before the forthcoming 2016 General Election. The Commission on Election (COMELEC) has 3 months (90 days) from the time the signatures are submitted to set a date for the National Referendum. Henceforth, from July a referendum should be held at the latest, October, if COMELEC is to abide by the “People’s Initiative and Referendum Act” aka RA 6735.
The members of Worldwide Philippine Jury Initiative, PH and UK are calling on every patriotic, nationalistic and country-loving Filipinos and their friends worldwide to support us in words and in deed in this aspiration. Help us rescue our “Sovereignty” from the claws of our corrupt leaders. If President Aquino is true to his words that WE ARE HIS BOSS, then let him prove his words by supporting our campaign for the reformation of our Judiciary through the adoption of the JURY SYSTEM. Time is running out fast. He should openly support it now or make him EAT HIS WORDS!
