Donors will help to fund a great project of integrating refugees in different ways. On a social base by cooking with new friends and connecting with others, and in a local community by presenting themselves and their work at big events.
For many people "refugees" have no face. They see masses of them in the news. Suffering, demanding for help. Refugees are often marked as victims. Which is right on the one hand, but will always brand them. That takes away the confidence of the people coming to us.
We give a face to people. When we serve food at a festival, people are passing by and realize: These refugees are people like you and me. And they are cooking damn good food! Our cooks are not victims any more, they can act as confident people and new citizens. The integration process is incredibly fast. First in our international cooking team with all ethnicities. And secondly with a much bigger impact: In the streets, on the markets and the catering events.
When our cooks serve food to the people, many of them hear the words "thank you" adressed to them. That is our mission: To remove the branding of "refugee" to an equal new citizen who makes the city more colourful and tastier.
