The Knowledge Exchange Programme is an intensive training initiative that provides Government school teachers in Nigeria with comprehensive professional development. We collaborate with qualified volunteer private school teachers from the UK and education experts who provide in-person or online training sessions that equip our beneficiaries with the necessary skills required to provide 21st-century teaching to public school children, thus improving teaching capacity and learning outcomes.
Learning poverty in Nigeria is largely driven by inadequate teacher training, with over 60% of teachers unprepared for 21st-century education and 67.5% in government schools lacking training since 2018. This gap affects their ability to manage multilingual classrooms and implement effective teaching strategies, leading to poor educational outcomes. This project will provide 500 public school teachers with access to transformative teacher training.
Train teachers on how to deliver effective teaching that will enhance the learning outcomes of school children. Train teachers on how to create lesson plans that capture modern teaching methodologies, enhancing beneficiary teaching skills. Improve beneficiary teachers' capacity through comprehensive multilingual training sessions that emphasize modern teaching methodologies and updated pedagogical practices to ensure teachers can meet the diverse needs of their students.
By enhancing teachers' skills and knowledge, a more inclusive and effective educational environment that promotes lifelong learning and academic excellence can be achieved.
