LIFE SKILL TRAINING:-
CINI provides life skill trainings to students who have dropped out from schools. These trainings help the children by giving them a basic idea as to how they can shape their future and grow up to do something constructive. CINI links those children at Rambagan, who are unable to continue their education, to vocational training courses so that they can become self-dependent and do not practice unethical means of earning. Life Skill Training sessions are mainly provided on issues such as stress and anger management, career counselling, sexual and reproductive health etc.
E-LEARNING CLASSES:-
E-Learning classes (learning methods through electronic devices) were introduced at Rambagan on December 2017. With the provision of twenty I-Ball tablets and a laptop by Vital Foundation, there has been a remarkable shift from the monotony of the daily study schedule. The E-Learning classes are meant for the students from class VI to X. Teachers prepare questions based on the syllabus of the respective classes. These classes take place thrice a week – Monday’s Wednesdays and Fridays, for duration of two hours. The classes are conducted on web portals known as ‘Quizalize’ and ‘Zzish’. The main subjects on which E-Learning classes are conducted are English Grammar, Mathematics, Science and General Knowledge and Life Skills. The children are divided into two groups – those that have attended E-Learning classes before and those who haven’t. The progress and educational standards of the students are assessed with the help of these scores.
COUNSELLING:-
Regular counselling and therapy sessions are carried out for the children of Ram Bagan in order to ensure that they have a proper mental health. They require regular counselling session and psycho-social support as they have been exposed to abuse, vulnerability and exploitation. To remove the after effects and trauma of these occurrences, both individual as well as group counselling sessions are carried out. Various therapy sessions are carried out at the centres:-
A total of 95 children received counselling support in the past 6 months.
CONVERGENCE:-
Children’s Group in association with WLCPC ensures a safety net in the Community by determining protection of the child.
CINI attempts to build a Child Friendly Community[1] (CFC) at Rambagan where governmental and non-governmental agencies, community stakeholders, service providers, local self-government will play the pivotal role of ‘duty bearers’ while CINI shall play the active role of facilitator to meet different entitlements of the vulnerable and ‘at-risk’ children to ensure protection of a child. To create a CFC, a holistic development of a safety net in the community is a must.
By adopting a Child Friendly Community approach, CINI ensures the involvement of the community especially the children through participatory process where together they analyse, plan and monitor the progress collectively, thus bringing the sense of ownership and leading for sustained effort.
[1]A community free from the issues of children’s exploitation and vulnerability.
