This project will provide Dialyser Recyclers and dialysers to dialysis units in Nigeria to reduce the cost of out-of-pocket payment for one haemodialysis treatment by 20%.
Less than 5% of Nigerian who require maintenance haemodialysis receive the treatment due to the high costs and out-of-pocket payment for dialysis. Eight out of 10 Nigerian diagnosed with kidney failure do not sustain haemodialysis beyond three months, leading devastatingly high death rates.
Providing Dialyser Recyclers and dialysers to Dialysis centres across the 36 States on the country will reduce the cost of one treatment by 20%.
The project will lead to significant improvement in the quality of life and survival of dialysis dependent patients in Nigeria.
