We are working mostly with farmers and our support are focused on assisting them recover from this type of calamity by helping them with farming inputs mostly seeds, organic fertilizer and planting materials. This reporting period we are able to support 53 farming families with root crop seeds. Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project assisting very poor families afftected by severe flooding. This reporting period we continue assisting families in 2 villages with vegetable gardening support by providing vegetable seed packets and organic fertilizer. The vegetable seed packets comprise ladys finger, squash, eggplant,. tomato and string beans. These vegetables are easy to raise and can be harvested early providing much benefit to the family in terms of improvement in health and nutrition, having physical exercise and camaraderie with neighbors and their own family as they do gardening activities. Aside from providing vegetable seed packets we also provided them with training on how to raise the seedlings and how to plant them in the field. We are able to support an initial of 75 families in this manner.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Support to those affected by flooding
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project assisting those affected by flooding. Severe storms are more frequent now and this has caused so much problems to poor people who are dependent on the land for their livelihood. Rising floodwaters destroys their crops thus making them hungry and malnourished. Our approach in order to assist them is to promote vegetable gardening as a means of quickly providing them with food and income in the quickest time possible. Vegetables are easy to grow and in a tropical country like the Philippines, they can be grown whole year round. In a span of 3-4 weeks some of the vegetables can be harvested already. Their nutritional value is very high and will improve the condition of low-income farmers. This reporting period we are able to support a total of 320 families with vegetable seeds, tools and organic fertilizer.
Again, thank you very much for your generosity.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
