Despite the great challenges that we continue facing, our young leaders are still motivated and they have shown their commitment and their leadership through these pandemic times.
During these past months, the youth participating in the second round of the TIBOCO project have had multiple virtual workshops for building management and leadership skills. They learned proven strategies to work with other people within the communities. As part of their training, they have identified a social challenge within their contexts which they wish to address. During the workshops they learned in detail how to develop their own plans to implement their initiatives, including how to use tools like mapping and needs assessments to support their work plans. Also, they had the opportunity to meet another young community leader who developed his community initiative. He shared how, through photography, video, and technology in general, community and personal issues can be brought to the public eye. Doing photography from another perspective to create a good change was a new concept for our leaders in training.
With your support more youth were able to reconnect with the organization and to acquire the necessary skills to create an impact in their communities. Through this video you can watch two of our young leaders, Nayely and Heriberto, sharing their special stories of development and growth within the program.
We are all thankful for all your support!
With gratitude, Jóvenes de Puerto Rico en Riesgo Team
