Two Story - Family of 6
Housing is increasingly being recognized as a crucial element for development. When families are able to acquire a good home, their living conditions improve and they take a stake in their community. A house becomes an asset for them now, in the future, and for their children's future. Plus investing in housing increases shared prosperity, because construction generates jobs and economic growth.
Nivas has been dedicated to the reconstruction of Dhamku Village for these very reasons. We've come a long way with 42 homes done and 26 to go, and hope to make great strides in the new year. Currently we're working on economies of scale. If we're able to meet our $15k year-end target the cost of each home will decrease. The more materials we get onto one tractor the less we pay in transit, the more work we have for a skilled laborer in 1 week the rate goes down, and so on. This is how we're able to do so much with what we have. And we don't intend to stop. The more we do with what we have the better the world becomes.
Thank you for all that you do to keep us moving forward and helping families rebuild their lives. Have a wonderful holiday!
