Greetings,
Thank you for your continuous support towards the re–construction of Buyani Secondary School. With your support, we have been able to bring down the ratio of Girl students to permanent toilets from 50:1 previously to 26:1, which is below the minimum ratio of 35:1 recommended by the Kenya Ministry of Education. The toilets were completed in November just after the school term ended, and will be ready for use by the students when the new academic year begins on 4th January 2018.
We are now targeting to construct similar facilities for the boys as well by next year. Our aim is to permanently solve the problem of poor sanitation at Buyani Secondary School so as to provide a more conducive learning environment for the students.
The enrolment of boys as at the close of the 2017 academic year was 155. There are at present no permanent toilets for the boys studying at Buyani Secondary School. They are having to rely on two temporary toilets (mud structures). We plam to bring the ratio of boys to toilets at Buyani Secondary School down to within the minimum recommended ratio of 40:1 by 2018.
Once again, on behalf of the local communities benefitting from the improved learning environment at Buyani Secondary through your support, we are grateful and thank each one of you sincerely.
Sincerely,
Oscar Raha Jr
