Jouden Tout Moun!

By Julie Colombino | CEO REBUILD Globally

Dear Supporters,

Thanks to your continued support for REBUILD Globally. We have continued to be a growing influence in the Port-au-Prince area.  It is your belief in sustainable development that has allowed us to add additional projects that not only educate our artisans, street children and the community at large; but has enabled us to combat an issue that we face daily in Haiti: food insecurity.

With the help of some amazing volunteers and generous donors, REBUILD has recently completed our Gardening Initiative!  At "Jouden Tout Moun" which in Creole means "Everybody's Garden", we are growing a variety of vegetables, starches and fruits and currently constructing a small out door kitchen to teach our Apprentices and street children proper nutrition and cooking methods.   Aside from a fresh source of produce for healthy lunches, we are also hiring on a new person for a full-time cooking position!   This will help us provide food for our artisans and those in need in our immediate community; and we're providing one more person with a living wage job. Check out this video to see the process of building and implementing our new initiative!

Our apprenticeship initiative has given our artisans the opportunity to become role models and instructors to the boys in our apprentice initiative. The boys spend time each week with an artisan who helps to train them. Hopefully these boys will be artisans too! It's with your support that we can guarantee this opportunity to these young men!

Be sure to stay connected with our efforts by liking our facebook page and following our YouTube channel. Also, you can continue to support the artisans by representing their work and purchasing a pair of sandals from our new etsy store!

Thank you!
