On August 27, 2020, Hurricane Laura slammed into the southwest Louisiana as the 10th strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in the United States. The extreme winds damaged caused catastrophic damage to literally thousands of homes. Many of these homeowners are low-income and lack the wherewithal to rebuild themselves. To compound the misery Delta struck the same area on October 9th. We rebuild with volunteer labor and your donations.
Hundreds of homeowners in Lake Charles and surrounds need your help. They can't do it themselves. Together we can restore the family and the community.
Donations to this project will first be used to remove trees and tarp roofs to prevent further damage. After that we will purchase construction materials for volunteers to rebuild these homes. With $15,000 we'll completely restore a home.
Not only is a deserving family restored to their home, but a community is restored. And low income housing stock is preserved and not lost to the rental market.
