We're Celebrating Reading Glasses Day on June 7! Reading Glasses Day (RGD) is a commemorative date dedicated to raising awareness about the lack of access to reading glasses in developing countries, and the impact that glasses have on people's lives. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to create access to glasses for 25,000 people living in impoverished communities in Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Tanzania. Thanks to our Board, every dollar donated up to $10,000 will be matched!
The lack of access to available, affordable reading glasses in developing countries is one of the biggest global health problems, affecting over 500 million people around the world. This #ReadingGlassesDay, our goal is to raise $20,000 to create access to glasses for 25,000 people living in impoverished communities in Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Tanzania.
With new reading glasses, people living in poverty will be able to see clearly to continue working, care for their children, and so much more. Since 2003, we have transformed over 14 million lives in 130 countries through the gift of sight - and with your help, we can do even more.
A pair of reading glasses gives more than the gift of sight - it gives the gift of opportunity. With new found confidence and the ability to see clearly, the people we serve around the world are able to pursue economic, educational, and personal opportunities.
