From Rehabilitation to the Classroom: Malika's Jou

By Safarov Sobirjon | Director

Two years ago, Malika struggled to communicate and interact with other children. Today, she is a first-grade student attending a mainstream school alongside her peers. Her journey shows how the right support can open doors to education for children with special needs.

Through Ramps Up for Life, our organization helps children with disabilities enter mainstream schools and supports teachers in creating inclusive classrooms. Teachers trained in inclusive education in 2025 are now supporting newly enrolled children, with ongoing guidance from our specialists.

Malika’s Story

Malika is the third child in her family and has intellectual and speech developmental delays. Initially, her family struggled to understand her condition and communicate with her.

When they contacted our organization, specialists explained her developmental needs and how to support her. At that time, Malika was shy, had difficulty communicating, and avoided playing with other children.

After two years in a rehabilitation group, she developed her communication skills, became more emotionally stable, began asking questions, and formed friendships with other children. These changes helped prepare her for school.

With the support and recommendation of our specialists, Malika enrolled in the first grade of a mainstream school this academic year. Although she initially faced challenges adjusting to the classroom, cooperation between her mother, teacher, and our specialists helped her overcome these difficulties.

Malika has now been attending school for two months. Our specialists continue to support teachers and families as children with disabilities adjust to school life.

Malika’s journey shows what becomes possible when children with disabilities receive the right support and the opportunity to learn alongside their peers.

Through Ramps Up for Life, your generosity helps children take their first steps into mainstream education and ensures that teachers and families are not alone in this journey. Your support can open classroom doors, build confidence, and create opportunities for more children to learn, belong, and reach their full potential. Together, we can make inclusive education a reality for every child.
