By Kaatje Nolen | Ramadan on Campus Kara Tepe, Lesbos
The fasting month of Ramadan is over, last Friday was the day for sugar and goodies, dancing and being together.
Ramadan is the month of fasting by the Muslims, she's brought some awareness with her. A month where helping one another, taking care of each other and #gratefulness are central.
This month is costing us €41.070,22, a huge heap of money. We do it with love, especially now. Good food, loving moments and #teamwork are very helpful when you feel bad and we buy everything locally which in turn helps the people from surrounding villages a little bit.
On average one day costs us €1369 and the average cost of giving 1 person tasty, #healthyfood made with care is €1,05.
It might feel like this is happening far away, but this is only 2009km from your bed. These people need our help after all their hardships. Help us help and donate (link in bio). Don't forget to mention Ramadan!
Let's shine a little light together
For 31 days, every evening and night or morning we brought food to the 1300 residents of Kara Tepe. It was a challenging month, with a lot of organising, sweat and double shifts. But we are super happy with the way things went on Lesbos.
Thank you all for your support, everything always helps! We count on you now, because you have given us that trust long ago.
