Ramadan Happiness Packages: Sharing Food, Sharing Hope

For many families living with financial hardship, Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection—but also a time when the cost of daily food can become an even greater burden.

Through its Ramadan Happiness Package (Paket Ramadan Bahagia), BAZNAS provides essential food supplies to families in need across Indonesia. Each package contains basic household necessities to help families prepare meals for sahur and iftar and face the holy month with greater peace of mind.

In 2026, BAZNAS aims to distribute 50,000 Ramadan packages, reaching around 200,000 people across Indonesia. The program brings together zakat, infaq, and charitable giving to turn small acts of kindness into meaningful support for vulnerable families.

Beyond the food itself, every package carries a simple message: you are not alone, and your community cares about you.

Your support can help put nutritious food on a family's table and bring a little more warmth and dignity to their Ramadan.

Together, we can share the blessings of Ramadan and bring happiness to families who need it most.

BAZNAS Distribute Packages to North Jakarta

The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia distributed humanitarian aid in the form of Happy Ramadan Packages (PRB) to students at the Floating Quran Memorization Center (RTA) in Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (February 24, 2026). In this charitable initiative, 70 Happy Ramadan Packages were distributed to teachers and students studying the Quran in this coastal area.

The Happy Ramadan Package is an annual BAZNAS program involving the distribution of basic necessity packages to underprivileged families or beneficiaries across Indonesia. This initiative also reflects BAZNAS’s commitment to supporting the well-being of religious scholars and orphans and the underprivileged during the holy month of Ramadan.

BAZNAS RI Deputy II for Distribution and Utilization, Dr. H.M. Imdadun Rahmat, M.Si., expressed his admiration for the perseverance of the administrators and students at the Floating Quran Memorization House. He described their dedication to studying religion despite their limitations as something extraordinary.

“For me, this Tahfiz House is extraordinary. Amazing! What’s so amazing? Their spirit, their passion, their refusal to give up, and their refusal to succumb to circumstances,” said Imdadun during his remarks at the location.

Meanwhile, Ustaz Sulaiman, an instructor at the Floating Quran Memorization Center, responded positively to BAZNAS RI’s concern for the students who remain dedicated to memorizing the Quran despite the challenges of living on the water. It is hoped that this assistance will bring joy and meet the students’ food needs as they perform their religious duties during the holy month.

“Alhamdulillah, here we are mentoring approximately 65 students. Of course, we say jazakumullah khairan katsira—thank you very much to the National Zakat Agency for visiting and providing ‘Happy Ramadan’ packages to our students here,” he said.

This assistance is considered to have a significant impact, not only for the students but also for the educators serving at the Floating Tahfiz House. Support from BAZNAS RI is viewed as a tangible expression of care for the well-being of those dedicated to the Qur’an in hard-to-reach areas. This visit also strengthens the synergy between the national zakat institution and community-based religious educational institutions. In addition to Kamal Muara, we also distributed aid in several other regions throughout Indonesia.
