Dear Donors,
I am writing to provide an update on the progress of our project to install rainwater harvesting systems in schools and communities across rural Azuero. With your generous support, we have successfully installed four rainwater harvesting systems in the schools of Cambutal, El Espavé, and Nuario, as well as one in the community of Paritilla.
This year, Azuero has experienced an intense dry summer, leading to severe water shortages in rivers, watering holes, streams, and even wells. This has highlighted the water crisis in Los Santos. For instance, in El Espavé, there have been days without water, and it is thanks to the rainwater harvesting system that classes have been able to continue regularly.

In the community of Nuario, children have been able to learn how to produce forest seedlings vital for the restoration of our forests. Thanks to the rainwater harvesting system, these children have been able to carry out these activities and start working in their garden.
In Paritilla, we were able to install a community garden, and we hope to do the same in the Cambutal community very soon.
Rainwater harvesting systems are crucial adaptation measures in rural communities to mitigate the effects of climate change. We hope to install more systems soon and create resilient communities in Azuero.
Thank you for your support in making this project a reality!
