Making a difference in Kekoldi

By Kekoldi Conservation Team | Project Team

Thank you for supporting this vital project.

The preservation of the Kekoldi Indigenous Region relies on thorough research and ongoing monitoring efforts.

The data collected through research plays a crucial role in shaping effective conservation strategies.

We continue to collaborate closely with the custodians of the Kekoldi Indigenous Region, conducting research and planning actions to protect the environment. Here's a small snapshot of our survey work so far this year.

  • We've conducted over 620 endangered species surveys.
  • We monitor 23 endangered species in our survey work.
  • There have been over 550 biodieversity surveys conducted.
  • We've surveyed 238 species.

Access to technology can greatly enhance research capabilities and using technology effectively enhances our research efforts. For example, the forest is so dry at the moment, due to the dry season. We therefore set up a new camera trap opposite a small natural spring in the hope to pick up on some wild cats coming for a drink. This

Your support helps ensure we can continue and expand these vital research activities.

Educational and outreach programs are equally important, raising awareness among local communities, stakeholders, and visitors about the importance of biodiversity and conservation. We've conducted sustainability workshops in the region.

Our fundraising efforts directly contribute to these educational initiatives across the region. We value your contribution to this project and look forward to sharing future progress with you.

Thanks again for your support.
