Environmental day celebration in the homes

Dear friend of the Rainbows

Hope you're well and keeping safe.

As Indua slowly comes out of the second wave and its horrific effects the common man is trying to find some balance of precaution prevention and the daily life in Covid. What's worse in this second year of the pandemic - that now children too are severely at risk of infection with many deaths and infection cases reported across.

A strong ray of hope is that the vaccine regimes have begun across all the cities for citizens aged 18 and above. As the cities gear up for this large scale immunization, we at the Rainbow Homes Program too aim to actively participate and get an approximate of 1200 staff and the young adults with their first round of vaccination.

Few updates from the cities:

Online learning: online learning is continuing and evolving more as we have different experts and volunteers in each city who are bringing in new ways through, films, dialogues, themed sessions, and current update around the world. These expert sessions break out the monotony of regular course lessons and excite the children engaging and encouraging indoor physical activities and interactive learning through group work.

Vaccination: The homes and states have taken up vaccine regime and we are in pursuits of CSR groups, volunteer organisations and government facilities to get our teams and young adults over 18 get vaccines.

Covid Care Centres: We are grateful to the few organisations, groups and government authorities who have come forward to support us in putting Covid care isolation and quarantine facilities near the home premises so that children coming back to the homes can stay and complete their isolation process. We need good funding opportunities for the same.

JJ session: to get a better clarity on the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 in India, we have planned all cities carers and state teams undergo its facilitation and learning session in batches by a qualified expert. This knowledge will help us get more clear with the child care mechanisms and processes in the legal compliance. We are near finish one session with 3 cities for now.

Schools and colleges: As the cities across India have slowly lifted their lockdown measures we are expecting the government orders to open schools and college, slowly but only for vaccinated pupils I.e for 18 above. Keeping that in mind, we are in touch with the respective school authorities to know of the change in curriculum, examinations and classes pattern in the digital scenario.

What is relieving overall is that with due care and efforts of the teams we have zero fatalities and infection cases as of now in the children and staff. Still, we have ahead of us a mammoth task of vaccination and continued care and protection against the pandemic.

We are again very grateful for your continued support that helps us continue our way forward. In these times we hope you stay safe, be vigilant and be positive to stay negative. It would be wonderful if you can ask your friends and family to reach out to our cause and help in any way possible to embrace, educate and enable the children  escape different vulnerabilities.

Regards
