Suarabh & Gobinda with Hope @ Umeed Rainbow Home (Sneh Ghar)
Saurabh and Gobinda are two siblings in Umeed Sneh Ghar. Saurabh says, "I don't remember my father. We're from Bihar, but I remember our days on the street. Never knew that a better life existed away from the streets. Who knows it on the street?" he asks.
"I came here, and realised what a different life is; realised the care and protection provided by Homes; realised that there is violence and abuse on the streets; realised why someone eloped with someone, and so on......"
"My brother-in-law used to beat us. He wanted us to go back to the streets; He wanted us to work, so that he could use us."
"..........but we are happy here. I want to complete my schooling, take a job, and support my family. Everybody loves us here, but one day we'll have to leave this Home, and settle in life; The Rainbow Home provides us care and protection, and education, food, and prepares us for a better life."
While he is talking, a few young ones come and hug him, tugs at him, and he smiles back at them. When he is asked, he says, these young ones look at me as their elder brother. They want the love and care not only from the Home elders, but from children like us.
Saurabh & Gobind are siblings. They have Hope that Umeed Rainbow Home (Sneh ghar) will give them the life they had not dreamt of on the streets.
