Introduction
The U&I Science Fair was conducted at the Rangoli Art Center, M.G. Road, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their scientific knowledge and creativity. Six students from Grade 9 represented ACT and actively participated in the event. The objective of the science fair was to encourage practical learning, innovation, and the application of scientific concepts to real-life challenges.
Project Overview: Bus Fire Alarm System
The participating students presented a working model on the Bus Fire Alarm System, focusing on enhancing safety in public transportation. The project demonstrated how early detection of fire can help prevent accidents and protect passengers.
Working of the Model
The model was designed using temperature and smoke sensors to detect fire at an early stage. When abnormal heat or smoke was sensed, the system immediately triggered an alarm, alerting both the driver and passengers. This timely warning mechanism highlighted the importance of preventive safety measures in public transport systems.
Learning Highlights
Through this project, students gained a deeper understanding of:
The project effectively connected classroom learning with real-world safety applications.
Student Participation and Engagement
The students confidently explained their model to visitors and judges, demonstrating clarity of thought and teamwork. Their active participation reflected strong preparation, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning through hands-on experience.
Outcomes
The U&I Science Fair served as a valuable platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. It strengthened their problem-solving skills, improved communication abilities, and reinforced the importance of science in addressing real-life safety concerns.
Conclusion
Participation in the U&I Science Fair was a meaningful learning experience for ACT students. The event encouraged innovation, critical thinking, and confidence while highlighting the relevance of science in everyday life. At Ashwini Charitable Trust, we remain committed to providing such opportunities that nurture curiosity, creativity, and practical learning among our children.
