Introduction

On 6th June 2025, a Smart Board training session was organized at the ACT Learning Centre. The session was attended by degree students and ACT staff members. The objective of the training was to enhance participants’ skills in using Smart Board technology to support teaching and learning activities.

 About the Smart Board

A Smart Board is an interactive whiteboard that allows users to control a computer using touch, a stylus, or gestures. Unlike traditional boards, it enables real-time interaction with digital content such as writing, drawing, moving objects, and running presentations. Widely used in classrooms and workplaces, Smart Boards enhance engagement and collaboration.

Key Features of a Smart Board:

  • Touchscreen interface – write, draw, and interact directly on the screen.
  • Multi-touch capability – allows multiple users to work together at once.
  • Digital ink – handwriting can be converted into text or saved as files.
  • Screen sharing – connect laptops, tablets, or smartphones to display content.
  • Audio & video integration – supports multimedia lessons and video conferencing.
  • Connectivity options – USB, HDMI, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
  • Cloud integration – save and access files from anywhere.
  • Six-screen division – larger Smart Boards can be split into six smaller screens for simultaneous activities.

 Training Highlights

The session was led by an expert, who demonstrated practical applications of the Smart Board, including:

  • Delivering interactive lessons
  • Watching educational videos
  • Practicing mathematics
  • Conducting other classroom activities

Participant Engagement

The participants actively engaged in the training and showed great enthusiasm in learning new technological skills. They expressed excitement about applying these techniques in their academic and professional settings.

Outcomes

The training highlighted the potential of the Smart Board to make lessons more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable. With its diverse applications, students are expected to benefit from an enhanced learning experience, while teachers can adopt more dynamic teaching methods.

Conclusion

The Smart Board training session was successful in equipping participants with practical skills for classroom integration. Both students and staff gained confidence in using the technology, which will contribute to more effective and enjoyable teaching and learning practices at ACT.

At Ashwini Charitable Trust, we aspire to offer many more sessions that equip our chilrdren with the skills they need to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital world. Your continued commitment and support are invaluable to us, and we remain deeply grateful for your generous contributions. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.
