Ashwini Charitable Trust(ACT) is unwavering in its commitment to supporting the talents of our children, especially during their summer vacations. We strive to engage and educate, and ensure that they have impactful and memorable learning experiences. This summer, we upheld our promise with the Summer Camp Science Program, a dynamic and enriching initiative that brought joy and knowledge to 106 bright minds from Grades III to IX. With the help of the innovative Dream Kit, the camp seamlessly blended fun with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning.
The camp was divided into three sessions, each designed to cater to different age groups. Over two action-packed days, each group participated in a variety of activities that were both educational and entertaining. Here’s an in-depth look at the camp’s structure and activities:
Day One: Exploration and Innovation
Day Two: Robotics and Competition
The Summer Camp Science Program left a lasting impact on the participants. Here are a few testimonials from the children:
Sneha(name changed), Grade VII: "Building the robots and competing in the Robo War was the best part of my summer! I learned so much about programming and working as a team. My team spent hours putting together all the parts, coding, and testing our robots to make sure they were ready for the competition. It was exciting during the competition, but we lost. I made new friends and had so much fun while learning. It was an unforgettable experience that I’ll always remember."
Akshay(name changed), Grade VII: “Last year also I participated in the program, but this camp was supper! Making wearable prototypes and presenting our ideas was so much fun. We got to use cool materials and tools to create things like light-up bracelets and smart badges. Presenting our ideas to everyone was thrilling, and I felt really proud of what we made. I discovered a lot about technology and creativity. It was so inspiring to see how we could turn our ideas into real things."
Vani(name changed), Grade VIII: "I like the micro -bit and sensors session. We learned how to program and do different things, like controlling robots. I had an amazing time with my friends, and we worked on projects together that were both fun and educational. The knowledge I gained will help me in school projects. Now I love science and feel more confident in using technology. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had during my vacation!”
Vinita(name changed), Grade IX: "The Mega Robo War was thrilling. Competing with the robots we built ourselves was a superb experience. We had to design, and build our robots from scratch, and then we faced off against other teams. It was intense and exciting, and it felt great when our robot performed well. This camp showed me that I can do amazing things with science and technology, and I can’t wait to learn more."
Conclusion
The Summer Camp Science Program by ACT was a resounding success, merging education with entertainment to create a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all participants. The camp not only provided valuable STEM knowledge but also helped children gain confidence, understand the importance of teamwork, and pick up effective communication skills. ACT remains dedicated to fostering the talents of children and creating opportunities for their growth and happiness. We are grateful for the support from all the donors, who enable us to continue making a positive impact on young lives. We look forward to expanding our initiatives and reaching even more children in the future, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
