Fun with Science classes have resumed in collaboration with Agastya International Foundation. The aim of these classes is to introduce children to the world of science in a fun and interactive way. The program is designed to enhance their learning experience and encourage them to explore their interest in science further.
Session 1
A session was conducted on 12/01/23, for grades 5 to 7. A total of 36 children attended the class and two educators from the Agastya Foundation were present. The topics covered in the session included light, transparent and semi-transparent objects, reflection and different types of mirrors.
Experiments: The students were able to conduct some experiments of their own, measuring the path of light through other objects while keeping the mirror and scale at a specified distance. This helped the students to understand the concept of light and its path in a more practical way.
Feedback from the students:The students had a great time during the session and learned a lot about light, reflection and different types of mirrors. They appreciated the hands-on approach to learning and found the experiments to be the best part of the session. They are looking forward to more sessions like this.
Session 2
A session was conducted on 30/01/23, for grades 8, 9 and 10. A total of 32 children attended the class and two educators from the Agastya Foundation were present. The topics covered in the session included image formation by concave & convex mirrors, characteristics of concave, convex and spherical mirrors and ray diagrams.
Experiments :The children enjoyed learning about mirrors and their characteristics through fun experiments. This helped them to understand the concepts of image formation and the differences between concave and convex mirrors in a more practical way.
Feedback from the students:The students appreciated the way the topics were taught and found it to be a fun and interactive session. They enjoyed learning about mirrors and their characteristics and are looking forward to more sessions like this.
The Fun with Science classes in collaboration with Agastya International Foundation are going well. The students learned a lot about light, mirrors and their characteristics through hands-on experiments. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many of them expressing their desire for more sessions like this. This program has shown the importance of hands-on learning and the benefits of interactive sessions in helping children to understand complex concepts in science.
