Dear Friends,
It is my pleasure to share our latest report via GlobalGiving on the progress of our project to provide quality education to the marginalized children in Kishanganj district of Bihar.
Azad India Foundation is currently running learning centers in Kashibari, Mahesh Mara, Dhekipara,Simalbari and Kesojhara villages with 5 teachers and 154 children enrolled under Primary Education program. The classes are held for children studying in class I to class V.The duration of the classes varies from 2 to 4 hours depending upon the availability of the children as most of them help their parents in fields or take care of their younger siblings. 65 children have joined mainstream schools in different classes from April. However they continue to come for the remedial classes. Azad India is trying to bring girls to the centers so that they also get good education.
The methodology of teaching and learning is activity and TLM based keeping in mind the need of the children.
Unfortunately we are not getting any donations for last couple of months making it difficult for us to run the other centers. It is the commitment of the teachers and community members that is running this program.
Do contribute to help us keep these disadvantaged children into the education program. We would be grateful if you can spread the word. We really need support to continue this program.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or ideas at aif_org@yahoo.co.in
Warm Regards,
