Challenge

Villages in UC Ghundan, Tehsil Sinjhoro, District Sanghar face a severe water crisis. 1000 households (4000 individuals) lack access to pure drinking water, making them vulnerable to waterborne diseases like diarrhea, typhoid, and hepatitis A. Children and infants are disproportionately affected, with recurring episodes of diarrhea and dehydration. Waterborne diseases lead to malnutrition, stunted growth, and increased mortality rates. The community's health and well-being are at risk.

Solution

Installing 10 community filter plants in villages of UC Ghundan, providing clean drinking water to 4000 individuals. Each plant will serve 400 people, removing contaminants and bacteria from water sources. This initiative will reduce waterborne diseases, improve health outcomes, and empower communities with access to clean water. The filter plants will be maintained by local communities, ensuring sustainability and long-term impact.

Long-Term Impact

Improved health outcomes, reduced waterborne diseases, and empowered communities. 4000 individuals will benefit from clean drinking water, with a significant decrease in diarrhea, typhoid, and hepatitis A cases. Children and infants will experience improved nutrition and growth, while communities will gain access to a fundamental right. The project will also promote community engagement, ownership, and sustainability, creating a lasting impact on the lives of villagers in UC Ghundan.
