Pundi Perempuan is a public fundraising platform to support the work of Women's Crisis Center and women victim organization to eliminate the violence against women in Indonesia. It was initiated by National Commission on Violence against Women. Since 2003, in cooperation with IKa, a philanthropic & grant-making organization, it conducts public fundraising, management and distribution of funds for WCC ranging from outreach, psychological counseling, legal assistance to empowerment.
The violence against women data recorded by The National Commission is like an iceberg. We believe many cases are unreported or recorded due to the geographical and social conditions in Indonesia. On the other hand, the number of Women's Crisis Center (WCC) in Indonesia is still not proportional to the number of victims. Skills, knowledge, and working tools for case assistance are very limited. Many work with minimum support and often use their own funds to support case-handling work.
Pundi Perempuan is not only a platform for financial support, but it is a testament to the concerns of many people over the cases of violence against women that occurred. Through Pundi Perempuan, the network of service provider institutions is increasingly widespread and able to obtain a national advocacy network (through the National Commission). Pundi Perempuan also enables capacity building in terms of organization as well as organizational sustainability management.
Your support through Pundi Perempuan will enable Women Crisis Center in Indonesia to help women victims of violence regain their self-esteem and hopes. Survivors will be accompanied by victim advocates to help themselves in determining their future. Independent survivors are expected to share support as victim advocates in the wider community and environment.
