PTWC is hoping to increase our services by adding new rooms to our clinic in Moshi, Tanzania. This expansion will allow us to provide much needed tests like ECG, ultrasound and a full working lab. We will also be building more consultation rooms so we are able to increase the amount of patients we see per day. Our focus is on vulnerable populations, mainly women who have been affected by chronic diseases and those who cannot afford high quality health care at other facilities.
Pamoja Tunaweza Women's Centre has started to outgrow its current space. Our patients have an increasing need for more services and we find ourselves referring our patients to other facilities for these services or tests, which we could easily provide at Pamoja with an extension on our current buildings and rooms. Referrals can also pose a problem as a lot of patients cannot afford the more expensive private facilities. Expanding our space will allow us to provide full service for our patients.
By building these new rooms at the back of the clinic property near, we will open up the current clinic building for more administrative offices and for use for social awareness projects. We will also be able to meet municipal standards by having the required rooms for health dispensaries of our level.
With this expansion, we will be able to increase the number of services we provide to our patients. With an added testing room and an added consultation room, the wait times for patients will decrease. The extra space opened up in the current clinic building will also give us more room to host health education sessions and support groups at our centre and provide a bigger home base for our various social and health projects.
