Project Update: Reaching Ukrainians in De-Occupied Areas

By Hanna Radchenko | Grant Specialist

Thanks to your support, we have continued providing free psychological and psychiatric care to Ukrainians affected by war - people who fled their homes, lost loved ones, and are rebuilding their lives under incredibly difficult circumstances.

Your impact since June 2025:

  • 996 people reached
  • 1,931 psychological consultations conducted
  • 106 psychiatric consultations provided
  • 12 supervision sessions held to maintain quality of care

Behind these numbers are real people - internally displaced persons, survivors of violence, and individuals living with disabilities, all navigating life in the middle of an ongoing war. This work is not easy to deliver: power outages, internet disruptions, and the emotional weight of the cases our specialists carry every day are a constant reality. And yet, the team has shown up every month without interruption.

We measure our impact using standardised clinical tools. Among those we supported, anxiety levels dropped by 25%, depression symptoms decreased by 20%, and overall psychological wellbeing improved by 17.5% - signs that people are sleeping better, returning to daily life, and slowly finding stability again.

One story from May stays with us. A 35-year-old woman reached out after a psychiatric hospitalization. She had spent years carrying an impossible weight alone - too afraid to seek help elsewhere. With our support, her condition has stabilized. She is slowly beginning to find her own answers. For her, this was the only place safe enough to start.

Your support does something powerful: it ensures that when someone in Ukraine is ready to ask for help, we are there to answer. We are continuing this work through summer 2026.

Thank you for making it possible!
