Another payment of 3880 PLN from GlobalGiving initiative helped 8 incurably ill children - Hania, Kamil, Wiktoria, Martyna, Emilka, Mateusz, Pawe and Jakub. We could pay for 66 hours of rehabilitation. We pass on photos of three our patients: Oliwia and Pawe during rehabilitation.
Below are messages from parents of the children who remain under our care and receive rehabilitation support.
"Maciek (12 years old) has suffered from a glioma tumour of low degree of malignancy, epilepsy, hydrocephalus and left eye blindness since 8 years. In April 2014 he stopped walking. In May 2014 he stopped moving his arms and legs. By decision of oncologists and neurologists, a rehabilitation was to be organised in order to restore upper and lower limb mobility. This is how daily rehabilitation, massage and exercise began. In late October, Maciek showed subtle progress in arms and legs mobility. Today Maciek is still lying in bed, being too weak to get up, but he can move his arms and legs. Rehabilitation ensures psychomotor development provided that it is done daily and intensively. If it was not for his physiotherapist, Agata, and her patience, knowledge and smile, nothing would come out of this." - Stanislaw, Maciek's dad
"My son Mateusz (7 years old) is a patient of Wroclaw Children's Hospice Foundation. My son has diagnosed NBIA genetic disease. Mateusz' rehabilitation provided by physiotherapist from the Hospice is critical, as it prevents contracture, reduces pain related with muscular tension, facilitates daily functioning and improves the quality of life. - Wioleta
Thank you all who contributed to support the rehabilitation!
