A topographical survey was completed in Chinaboquil, and an architectural plan was created for a 10 meter high water tower platform for two 10,000 liter (2640 gallon) plastic water tanks. The well has been confirmed to produce 20 gallons per minute of water, which can fill (or refill) the two tanks in about 4.5 hours. the village council has agreed to request the local electric company to install a meter and service for the well pump. We have also offered the council the option for us to provide a solar power system to supply the pump if they would prefer that. Once the electric service is complete, we will construct the tank platform/tower, install the tanks, and install PVC water piping underground along the principal streets in the village. We will provide three sites where residents may collect clean water should they choose not to invest in a piping connection from the main lines to their houses. We hope to be able to show photos of the completed system in our next report.
