Sixteen hearts opened, sixteen homes offered refuge to 25 children. Among them are siblings and could not be separated. In 2023, Glad's House, hand in hand with dedicated foster families, weaved a safety net for vulnerable children. These families, motivated by compassion and guided by short trainings in child safeguarding, positive parenting, understanding street-connected children, Children act 22 and positive parenting, embraced children in need. Individualized plans paved the way. Some children, yearning for education, found a haven in foster care, escaping environments that hindered their learning. Others, with parents entangled in the harsh realities of the streets, found solace and support under foster families' watchful eyes.
Glad's House, a constant presence, walked alongside both families. For the children, a chance to rediscover talents, flourish in formal and non-formal education, and ultimately, reach for that precious reunion with their biological families. The three-year window in foster care is to bridge a gap, not a barrier, built on the unwavering belief that every child deserves a path back to belonging and to be brought up in a family.
Your support has and will continue to enable us place more children in alternative care.
