Hello from Glad's House,
The street situation in Mombasa is evolving every day. Many children and familes are being attacted to the street with a hope of finding solutions to life's difficulty. As an outcome of this, many children are losing their innonce, opportunity to go to school and are being expoesd to sitautions innapropriate to their developements.
Glad's House has been strenthening their work on case managements meeting in the new drop in center. This month, We have delivered 12 case management meetings. These meetings have given the children and young people the space to speak out their feelings and expereinces to their key people in their lives. "I feel comfortable while am with my friends and at school, than at home. There is alot of preassure at home, i feel am not appreciated by anyone", said a young person to his guardian. For this young person, who is very talented in sports and academics, he believes the space has given him a second chance to go back to school and be appreciated.
" My life would be a living hell if i was still in street. Maybe i would be a mother of two or three, i would be jailed, a prostitute. After i lost my mother, i thought no would ever love me in this life. Glad's House has given me a chance to education which my onw family could not give me" said a young woman who is completing her secondary school.
Our hearts are filled with joy when we see these young lives being transformed. We continue to be greatful for you unending support.
