The view from the ground is often the best way to understand why health information is vitally important to a community. Angela Adhiambo, the director of the Kabala Women’s Center, describes their situation this way:
“Having Hesperian’s book “Where There is No Doctor” in Bunyore will allow more people to have health knowledge for prevention and treatment. The translation will be mainly used by community health workers, but because Hesperian books are written for low literacy villagers, people who are not highly educated can use them as well. This allows the community to share knowledge on health issues and improve their lives.”
Any money raised by this campaign will make these books a reality. Each book, in turn, will support an average of 40 people in protecting their environment and community health. We hope you will share this campaign, and help KWC meet their goal!
