St. Boniface Hospital (SBH) provides essential healthcare to over 2M people in southern Haiti, including children, pregnant women, and critically ill patients. Annual services include 140,000+ outpatient visits, 3,800 surgeries, and 800 NICU admissions. By maintaining emergency response amid natural disasters and political instability, SBH ensures continuous lifesaving and preventive care.
The southern peninsula of Haiti faces limited access to comprehensive healthcare, leaving vulnerable populations-children, pregnant women, critically ill patients-at high risk. Emergency response is often disrupted by natural disasters, political instability, and insufficient local resources.
By strengthening St. Boniface Hospital's capacity to provide uninterrupted, high-quality healthcare, the project ensures both emergency and routine services are maintained. It combines critical care, specialized treatment, preventive outreach, and community health programs, reaching tens of thousands of people while sustaining operations during crises.
The project will improve health outcomes for over 2 million people, reduce mortality from treatable conditions, enhance community resilience through preventive care, and build a model for sustainable, crisis-resilient healthcare in regions prone to disasters and instability.
