Over 200 Leaders and Practitioners Connect and Learn Together
224 people from 29 nations gathered during March in Sofia, Bulgaria, for a Europe-wide forum for a World Without Orphans. Under the theme "Journeying Together - A Family for Every Child", people connected with other leaders and practitioners who share a vision for a World Without Orphans for learning and refreshment.
Through presentations and discussion with international specialist teachers, childcare practitioners and national WWO leaders, all who came gained insight and best practice methodologies to work with children and families. Moreover, there was great encouragement through news of work in neighbouring countries and fellowship with like-minded Christian people.
For many who have served children faithfully during COVID and now war in Ukraine, it was also space to relax, have fun and take advantage of counselling and prayer with an experienced team.

Over 700 Children Helped In New Country Initiatives
In the 4 countries that have launched a 'without orphans' movement in the last 18 months, 81 churches have been engaged to focus on care for the most vulnerable children in their area, directly improving the lives of 740 children. Already after the March forum, teams have come together in Serbia and Finland to launch their own national initiative through 1-day roundtable gatherings to share vision and draw people together around the vision for every child to be cared for in a permanent family.
Alongside these new initiatives, as the European facilitation team we have been serving the national facilitators since March with 2 online Learning Communities for 15 national leaders to pray together and share their experiences, and a half-day seminar on child protection and safeguarding for 40 NGO and church participants. Alongside teaching from experts, we heard a case study from Romania and learned through questions and answers.
