Nor Luyce is a 3-phase mentoring program that aims to empower adolescent girls in Armenia, ages 13-18, from orphanages and low-income families to lead self-sufficient lives. Nor Luyce strives to build a community of strong, thoughtful, creative young women. We encourage our participants to work hard and dream big and help them reach their desired personal and career goals.
Children who live in orphanages experience different behavioral problems, feelings of fear, despair, and insecurity, with a high anxiety level. They lack a number of life skills necessary to understand people or to engage effectively in the social, personal, and academic world. Without having consistency or lack of adult care, our youth have a hard time regulating their behavior and expressing emotions. Ongoing guidance and support aids our youth in finding their place in society.
Nor Luyce Mentoring Center for Youth NGO finds the solution of the problem in providing the girls from orphanages with one-on-one mentoring relationships, which will allow them to have an adult in their life who offers care, emotional & psychological support, including various healing modalities. Nor Luyce offers creative pieces of skill-building training. This project will help the girls to regulate their emotions and experience both behavioral and academic change towards the better.
The long-term impact of the project is that adolescent girls will become empowered successful women, acknowledging their own personal strengths, willpower, their personality traits, while balancing relationships with peers and other members of society. Enhancing life skills, to follow dreams, career paths, to become motivated, high ranking achievement leaders within our society. We want our girls to be an independent success, leaving an impression to the future young women of Gyumri, Armenia.
