Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI) continues its critical work in Minova, ensuring the displaced people and their families have access to clean water and healthcare. In response to the growing crisis, ECI swiftly implemented two new piped water systems that serve major host areas, bringing clean, flowing water to tens of thousands of households. Additionally, our medical staff designed two mobile clinics capable of traveling to schools, churches, and makeshift camps, reaching displaced families wherever they seek safety. Since late October, the clinics have provided care to more than 2,700 internally displaced people (IDP) and safely delivered over a dozen newborns.
Our water point in Minova remains open daily, providing consistent access to clean water. To support families who lacked containers, we have distributed over 3,000 jerry cans, ensuring they can safely transport and store water for their daily needs. While these efforts are making a tangible impact, the work is far from done. A displaced person in Minova shared, “ECI provided us with jerry cans, gave us free access to clean water and healthcare, for which we are grateful. However, the needs remain significant, and there are other essential needs for the displaced people.”
Your continued support is vital to addressing these ongoing needs and bringing hope to the IDPs in Minova. Thank you for standing with us.
