Families displaced by conflict in North and South Kivu are facing life without adequate shelter, leaving many exposed to harsh weather, illness, insecurity, and the daily stress of displacement. Through our Provide Tents for Displaced Families in DRC project, we aim to provide 3,000 emergency shelter tents for approximately 21,000 internally displaced people, prioritizing vulnerable women, children, older people, and families facing the greatest risks. At this stage, our team is in the preparation and resource mobilization phase, including beneficiary planning, coordination, and the identification of trainers and learners. We have raised our first USD 100 toward the USD 95,600 project goal.
This first contribution is small compared with the scale of the need, but it is an important beginning. With the support and international reach provided through our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we believe we can build the momentum needed to reach our fundraising target and bring this project to the families who need it most. GlobalGiving's model helps locally led organizations connect with donors around the world and share regular project updates with supporters. (GlobalGiving)
We are deeply grateful to every person who has already supported this effort, and especially to GlobalGiving for helping us bring this urgent humanitarian need to a wider community. We now call on individuals, foundations, companies, and humanitarian partners to join us. Your donation can help provide a family with a safe place to sleep, protect children from the elements, restore privacy and dignity, and give displaced families hope for tomorrow. Together, we can turn 3,000 tents into a safer future for 21,000 people.
